Modern Music Trends

So I’m currently interning at a music website, and I want to find out about some of the trends in music and technology. What I mean is like in the past few years CDs have been less and less popular and mp3 are replacing CD. There’s also websites like pandora.com and iPhones and whatnot. So what is the current and the next big thing? More music cell phones? more music websites? what about itunes vs. illegal downloading?

I know it’s a big question, so thanks in advance! Your input will be greatly appreciated.
