What do you think about the trend of popular music being used in ads and the decline of the commercial jingle?

Music Trends
I Feel Like Sunshine asked:

More and more advertisement companies are using popular music/songs to hawk their clients products and the commercial jingle is pretty much non-existant. Cool or not cool?

Does it ruin it for you when you hear a song you like being played on a lame commercial for butter, a cleaning supply, or tampons?

Is it ok as long as the product being advertised is something like a truck, an ipod, cell phone, or pizza?

Do I have too much time on my hands?

what will future music trends be like?

Music Trends
moesha m asked:

It seems that alot of todays music channels the sounds of the two previous decades (eg nickelback and the grunge sound or the killers and the “eighties sound”).

when will something completely original arrive? or has every type of music that can possibly be played been played already?

what about strange cross-genre sounds, like maybe polka-rap or a fusion of punk and australian aboriginal music or something like that?

What inspired fashion trends before movies, television, and music?

Music Trends
Silver asked:

Most of today’s fashion trends seem to be inspired by Hollywood celebrities, movies, television, and musicians.

What inspired fashions, prior to the mid-to-late1800s, before the invention of movies, tv, and modern music?

Was it possibly the stageshows of the day, as well the wealthy, and royalty?

When will the hip hop and rap music era end?

Music Trends
Jake asked:

I’m curious if there will be a new type of music. I have seen music trends change since the 1950s. Rap and hip hop music has been around for a long time and I am curious what will be next.
Rock and Roll, The British invasion of 1960s, Heavy Metal, Southren Rock and even Punk Rock have all died, so I’m just curious what the type of music will be next.

I want to see if there is a coorelation in YA politics. And if you have any statistics for real politic-music trends, then those are welcome too.
