Modern Music Trends

Alright, I know it is only my opinion, but for the past 5 or 6 years or so, I have been finding myself less and less impressed with current music trends. I thought some of it was alright, but about 2 years ago, I think it all just hit rock bottom. What happened to melodies? What happened to songs NOT about sex? What happened to variety? What happened to artists becoming famous for their talent and creativity? Music died at the turn of the century. I blame the tweens. Not that I don’t like young people. I just think they are missing out.

Ok from the history I’ve seen there had been fads come and gone. EMO is the latest but so 2005 and starting to get really tiring! Will there ever come a fad to replace it with good music and all that for once?
well Gramophone, I’d like some sort of rock music that wasn’t so negative but had a good message and a strong rythm! Perhaps rock that would express Reagan’s idea of Conservativeness! Trying not to copy Goth and being more intelligent than Punk, finally that leans more toward metal and southern rock? That would be nice!

-Fashion Trends
-Food
-Music
-Crazes
-Etc.
David, you jump to assumptions.
Clarification; I have no desire to follow trends or be trendy. I’m interested in ideas to see trends coming; for business and investment ideas.

A lot of people don’t give the Midwest props for things they did in hip hop. There are a lot of trends they set but people don’t acknowledge it. Like Thug Music which was brought to the forefront by Bone Thugs, Twista, Psycodrama, Triple Darkness and Do Or Die. Then the great Tupac help bring it up too. But even he admitted that Bone Thugs was the first to do it thats why they did the song together called “Thug Luv”. Then clothing wise Midwest rappers back in the day like Crucial Conflict and Bone Thugs brought the Bib-Overalls with the hoodies to the forefront and the Midwest started the fast rap and harmonizing trend that everybody copies but the Midwest doesn’t get there just due. What other trends to you think they set?
